Engr Awak drives a Peugeot 504

The Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the PDP has called on the publicity secretary of the APC Mr Ita Awak to desist from fraudulently evading taxation, by using a state government plate number on his car more than 13 years after leaving office as commissioner.
Publicity Secretary of the PDP Comrade Ini Ememobong in an interview in Uyo, faulted the claims by Mr Awak that the government of Mr Udom Emmanuel was not fair in the distribution of political powers to the sections in the State.
On the contrary, Mr Ememobong said that the PDP had allotted the positions across the three different senatorial districts in the State, quite unlike the APC at the national level that left virtually all sensitive and top positions for a particular section of the country.
On the issue of salary, Ememobong said that Akwa Ibom state remains one of the few states where salaries are paid as at when due, whereas the APC –led federal government has been owing federal workers in the past few months.
“Even when the APC led federal government cannot pay full salary, the PDP led government in Akwa Ibom State is paying full salaries to her workforce. APC should applaud our Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for this
He urged Ita Awak to desist from using tribal sentiments to divide the peaceful and cordial relationship among Akwa Ibom people, adding that the people of the state.
He argured that, "If he says that the Speaker Onofiok Luke is from Nsit Ubium, and as such the PDP chairman should not come from Etinan, was the Speaker not from Etinan when the PDP chairman was from Etinan, why then did he support his aspirant Mr Umana Umana who was then in PDP and hails from Nsit Ubium?"
“So all his allegations smack hypocrisy and are geared towards maligning the common ancestry that we all share in this state.”
The PDP spokesman urged the APC publicity scribe to convene a meeting of ethnic groups and discuss ethnicity on a different platform with traditional rulers rather than attempt to use ethnic lines to score political points
